The Glass Castle Two-voice Poem

Dad: When have I ever let you down?
Jeannette: I'm starting to hear that a lot.
Dad: Whaddya mean? Your old man works.
Jeannette: You spend money on beer, and leave us to rot.
Dad: Watch your mouth, or I'll go fetch my belt.

Jeannette shivered-- she still had some welts.

Dad: Anyways, you don't mean that, do ya, Mountain Goat?
Dad: You and me are gonna build the Glass Castle
Dad: Complete with a moat!
Jeannette: Dad, you'll never get it done.
Jeannette: I'm leaving soon, for New York.

Dad: No you're not, you can't leave me.
Jeannette: Really? Just you wait and see.
