A Dog's Life

A dog’s life must be easy
Sleeping around all day.
A dog’s life must be easy
Only waking to play.

A dog’s life must be easy
No need to learn math.
A dog’s life must be easy
Their only problem is a bath.

A dog’s life must be easy
Little joys bring such blithe.
A dog’s life must be easy
Going on walks is their life.

A dog’s life must be easy
Never having to leave the house.
A dog’s life must be easy
The tiniest of apartments is their equivalent of a penthouse.

A dog’s life must be easy
But, I would say
While a dog’s life may be easy,
I’d rather be a human any day.

  1. Ruby-This poem flows so well. It really sums up what I think the stereotypical dog's life would be. I really like the last stanza, I totally agree; I used to want to be a dog, but as a human, we can make a difference and make decisions and have more opportunities.
